| Instructions on how to use the Tortilla Machine
Tortilla Machine for making corn tortillas and tamales
I. Preparing the machine.
Remove the base plate from underneath the machine, screw it to the top of a work table and fasten down the machine with the wing nute.
Separate the rollers until you obtain the thickness you want, then fasten it with the wing nuts.
Make sure the wires are taut.
Always clean your machine well before and after each use, removing the bin and the cutter. Always place your cutter with the long sheave pin toward the gear.
II. To make a corn tortilla.
Prepare the masa soft and well-kneaded.
Place the masa in the bin, with your left hand turn the handle and with your right hand, gently remove the tortilla from the roller.
Cook the tortillas well until they are soft and puffy. Keep them refrigerated in a plastic bag and tie it, they will remain soft for several days.
III. To spread the masa on a corn husk (tamales).
Remove the bin and the cutter. To spread the masa on the corn husk, place a small ball of masa in the middle of the corn husk, insert the corn husk through the rollers, pointed end first, turn the handle, remove the excess masa from the corn husk and the rollers.
IV. To place the wire in the bin.
Have on hand a screwdriver and pliers.
Make a knot on one end of the wire, insert it through the hole in the bin and pass it through the slots.
